The Urban Art Program of the Community at the Center project, promoted by the NGO Africa'70 in partnership with the Pilorinhu Association and the Praia City Council, is based on a concept of public intervention as a time of collaboration and dialogue with residents and traders of Achada Great Front. The participating artists carry out their activities on a residency basis, finally leaving their works on the walls and in the neighborhood environments. The main objective of the Urban Art Program is to transform Achada Grande Frente into a 'Urban Art Neighborhood' - a unique case in Cape Verde and rare in Africa, in a local promotion strategy that could make the neighborhood attractive for flows of a kind in the future. alternative tourism, with gains in economic terms for residents and traders in the area.
